XEC24 belongs to TESI's heavy-duty series of wall-mounted high-energy power units, which are considerably more powerful than the standard units and light oil and gas burners directly, diesel and heavy fuel oil included. Together with a high-energy ignition rod with an exchangeable spark tip and a high-voltage connecting cable, the power unit in its wall-mounting box forms a complete system. The rod is rigid as standard; a flexible design can be made for tilting tangential firing.
Each spark delivers 24.5 J (±10 %), the highest spark energy among the four XEC units in this catalogue (XEC10: 10 J, XEC15: 15 J, XEC18H: 18 J). Output voltage is 1400 V (±10 %) and the spark rate averages 6 per second, adjustable on request. The duty cycle, stated for 60 °C, allows up to 8 minutes of sparking at 6 sparks/s followed by a pause of at least 16 minutes, with no more than 3 cycles in a row.
The unit is fed with 115 or 230 V AC at 50 Hz (60 Hz on request) and draws at most 10 A, about 3.15 A RMS at 6 sparks/s, and 550 W. The standard operating range is -20…+60 °C, with -30…+60 °C on request as a special execution; protection is IP66, other ratings on request. High-energy ignition ignores moisture, liquids and deposits on the electrodes, needs no maintenance and brings no electric shock risk.
