XEC10 belongs to TESI's heavy-duty range of wall-mounted high-energy power units. A system consists of the power unit housed in a wall-mounting box, a high-energy ignition rod with an exchangeable spark tip and a high-voltage connecting cable. The rod is rigid as standard, and a flexible design can be built for tilting tangential firing. Considerably more powerful than TESI's standard power units, it lights oil and gas burners directly, diesel and heavy fuel oil included.
Each spark carries 10 J (±10 %) at an output voltage of 1400 V (±10 %), with an average of 24 sparks per second that can be adjusted on request. Among the four XEC units in this catalogue, XEC10 has the highest spark rate (XEC15: 15 J at 4 sparks/s, XEC24: 24.5 J at 6 sparks/s, XEC18H: 18 J at 2 sparks/s). The unit is fed with 115 or 230 V AC at 50 Hz (60 Hz on request); it draws at most 10 A, about 4 A RMS at 24 sparks/s, and 750 W.
The duty cycle, stated for 60 °C, allows up to 1 minute of sparking at 24 sparks/s followed by a pause of at least 2 minutes, with no more than 3 such cycles in a row. The standard operating range is -20…+60 °C; -30…+60 °C is available on request as a special execution. Protection is IP66, with other ratings on request. High-energy ignition is unaffected by moisture, liquids and combustion deposits on the electrodes, needs no maintenance and poses no electric shock risk.
