Actuator for Ex zone 1

In areas classified as Ex zone 1, this LAMTEC actuator operates the dampers and valves of firing plants. Type 662R2140 has a die-cast aluminium housing and type 662R2141 a stainless steel housing; both are offered with torques of 6, 20, 30, 40 and 50 Nm. The ATEX version is marked II 2G Ex d IIC T6 Gb (IBExU 12ATEX1096 X) and works at ambient temperatures of -20…+60 °C; the IECEx version is marked Ex d IIC T6 Gb (IECEx IBE 14.0056X) and is limited to -20…+40 °C. The actuator is TÜV-approved for use with ETAMATIC, FMS and VMS; use with CMS requires an individual approval.

The standard version runs on 230 V AC / 50 Hz, is operated by three-point step control and completes a 90° movement in 60 seconds. Order options include 115 V AC or 230 V AC supply at 50 or 60 Hz, running times of 30 or 40 seconds and angular displacements of 120°, 135°, 180° or 270°. Position is reported by a TÜV-approved 5 kΩ conductive-plastic potentiometer, coupled positively and without backlash. Two limit switches and two additional switches are fitted; the three-point step version is supplied only with electric manual override.

Optional integrated electronic control drives the actuator with a 4…20 mA signal; this version reports its position as 4…20 mA and is supplied without manual override. With ETAMATIC, FMS or VMS, that feedback does not count as a fail-safe position indication, so an additional TÜV-approved 5 kΩ conductive-plastic potentiometer is mandatory. The shaft measures Ø12 × 25 mm (Ø12 × 30 mm with the stainless steel housing) and has a 4 × 4 × 14 mm feather key; mounting uses 4 × M6 on a Ø 50 mm hole circle. A coupling or lever is not included and has to be ordered on its own.
