High-pressure tank

TSB Energy builds high-pressure tanks to order for holding or processing liquids, gases and steam under high pressure. For internal or external pressure duty they are made for up to 500 bar, with wall thicknesses of up to 120 mm and diameters of up to 6500 mm. Typical users are petrochemical, chemical, energy, food and pharmaceutical plants, steelworks and refineries, and the tanks also serve as buffers for boilers, heat exchangers and reactors.

Design and fabrication follow PED 2014/68/EU, EN 13445, ASME VIII Div. 1 and 2 (U, U2, R, NB), PD 5500, NORSOK, DNV offshore rules, API 650, API 6A, ASME B31.3, EN 14015 (BS 2654), NACE MR0175/ISO 15156, GOST and SNIP. P355NL2 and P460NL1 plate carries the pressure; depending on how corrosive the medium is, on Ex requirements and on the pressure and temperature ratings, carbon or stainless steel, aluminium, titanium, high-nickel alloys or Hastelloy is used. The 100 mm high-density insulation is clad in galvanised, painted sheet steel, and the tank ships ready to run on a single skid.

Depending on the duty, the tank is built as a separator or distillation tank, a buffer tank or a hydropneumatic accumulator. Its fittings include safety valves, burst discs, pressure transmitters and switches, pressure gauges, level and temperature sensors, drain and vent valves, and process nozzles and flanges; a mixer is optional. The PLC watches every safety device and makes the system safe on alarm, and the HMI shows active and past alarms. A PLC option with Modbus or Profibus connects the tank to plant automation, while remote monitoring runs over Modbus TCP/IP and PROFINET.
