XEC03H is TESI's high-energy ignition module for installation in electrical panels, used to light ground and elevated flares. In a flare layout the ignition power supply often has to sit far from the ignition rod, and a long cable weakens the spark; XEC03H is designed to keep the spark strong with a power supply cable of up to 500 m.
It is fed with 115–230 V AC, 50/60 Hz (12/24 V DC on request), draws 110 W and produces 18 J (±10 %) per spark at 2 sparks per second from a 1000 V DC output. The duty cycle is 33 %, with sparking lasting up to 1 minute. The powder-coated steel housing is rated IP65, measures 170 × 140 × 85 mm and weighs 5 kg; input and output connections are made with two 1 m cables. Thermocouple or ionisation flame detection is available as an option.
Its new housing is resin-filled, keeping water out in any weather outdoors. The compact module fits easily on a mounting plate, the wiring is simple and it can be exchanged quickly even with the plant running. XEC03H serves flare ignition where process gas is burnt off: in refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants and on offshore platforms.
